Symposium 2025 Sydney
TLSWa is holding a Symposium in Sydney 16th - 18th November 2025, to showcase best practice, innovation, and outcomes, to network and to advocate for more TLSW to be available for children, young people, and adults Australia wide.

This symposium is following on from our highly successful and inspiring Naarm-Melbourne Symposium held in November 2023.
We will be holding our symposium at a venue in Bankstown. Please watch this space for updates.
In 2023 TLSWa held our first Australian Symposium in Naarm / Melbourne. Over 100 people attended over 2 days
Community Drop-In sessions
TLSWa holds regular monthly drop-in sessions for TLSWa community members to discuss practice issues. These drop-ins are held by practicing members and guest experts.
The June drop-in is facilitated by Amy Payne who will be talking about
Working Intergenerationally:
• Exploring Intergenerational Trauma: Reflect on how trauma is passed through generations, the themes that emerge in sessions and about its impact on family systems.
• Fostering Intergenerational Understanding: Explore ways to bridge generational gaps and create meaningful connections in therapeutic work.
• Practical Tools for Intergenerational Practice: Discover and share practices and tools to support healing.

If you have completed the Diploma course in TLSW you are able to become a community member. As a community member, you can attend drop-ins and special events.​

Future guest speakers will include Richard Rose who will be ‘dropping-in’ to share his magic in September 2025. This event will be exclusive to TLSW Australia members and students (full and community members).

There are a range of training options available to further your TLSW skills. ​​
Professional Diploma: Therapeutic Life Story Work - mixed delivery
The comprehensive 12 day course designed to equip participants with the skills, knowledge and experience to undertake Therapeutic Life Story Work with children and young people during the course of their work.

In order to practice TLSW you need to have completed the TLSW Professional Diploma course.

Professional Certificate: Therapeutic Life Story Work - online.

The Professional Certificate (formally known as the Advanced Certificate) comprises six teaching days and focuses solely on the delivery of Therapeutic Life Story Work providing an opportunity to put this intervention into practice within your current role.

The Staying Safe Programme - Online
Rob Tucker
Psycho-educational work with children affected by sexual abuse in family environments. Aimed at those children and young people who are no longer in the families where abuse took place or where the offender is living elsewhere. It is designed to build upon traditional ‘Protective Behaviours Work’ by ensuring that the work is applied to the family’s specific abuse circumstances, helping children get answers to questions they might have.
